My children are not athletic. Can they still participate in the camp?

Sports practice will be tailored to different ages and skill levels. We want to foster an inclusive, fun, and healthy environment for all children.

My child is not 7-12 years old. Can they still join?

It is possible for children outside the designated age range to attend Camp Hokulea. Our main goal is to make sure that all campers can participate in all activities. For younger or older children, please contact us for more information.

If my child is 10-12 years old, can the parents still join the camp?

Parents of children ages 10-12 are asked to send their children alone to camp to encourage independent learning as well as team building. If you are still interested in attending the camp, please contact us for further information.

Can fathers join?

Absolutely! Fathers of children ages 7 to 9 are also encouraged to join Camp Hokulea.

How will transportation be arranged?

All camp-related transportation will be arranged by Camp Hokulea. This includes: airport pickup and drop off, bus to beaches, weekend excursions and tours, etc. Transportation requirements arising from personal activities for parents will have to be arranged separately. Concierge will be available to help make arrangements.

What if my child gets sick during camp?

Professional nurses will be available during the weekdays. For emergencies, children will be taken to Castle Medical Center located 5 minutes away.

What kind of food will you serve?

Three meals will be provided for resident campers and parents, while lunch will be provided for day students. A professional dining staff at Hawaii Pacific University will provide freshly prepared meals. There will also be special food events such as a Hawaiian luau, Korean food nights, pizza parties, and outdoor barbecues. In addition, healthy snacks will be provided daily.

What do I need to bring?

After registering for the camp, a detailed list of required and suggested items will be sent to the parents.
